MCLA Allegrettos Alumni Return for 10 Year Anniversary Concert

NORTH ADAMS, MASS.—Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts (MCLA) Alumni Association announces the Allegrettos “10 Years, 10 Songs” reunion concert at 7 p.m. on Saturday, April 4, 2020, at Church Street Center on MCLA’s campus. Nearly 40 alumni of the program will reunite for this one-night-only concert.

This event is free and open to the public. A reception will follow the performance. Light bites and refreshments will be served.  

The Allegrettos is a collegiate a cappella and gospel performance group. Originally called the Hoosings, 10 students (Chantel Baptista ’14, Shavonne Brown ’14, Jessica Jean-Charles ’13, J. Cottle ’13, Quincy Goodwin ’13, Ryan Howard, Paul Miranda ’13, Kate Moore ’13, Lizzy Mullen ’14, and Joel Siskin ’13) created the singing group in the winter of 2009. Since then, the group has grown significantly in size. 

In 2011, they were finalists in the first season of “Together in Song” and won second place in at the annual Lenox Caroling Festival. In 2012, they won first place at the Lenox Caroling Festival. In 2013, the a capella section of the group competed in the semifinal round of the International Competition of Colligate A Cappella (ICCA) and came in fourth place. The Allegrettos also competed in ICCA in 2014 and 2015. The Allegrettos have also performed annually at Grace Chapel of Clifton Park, N.Y., since 2014.
